“What time does the sun set?” the Creature asked the Maggot.
Along the route, past petrified stone faces, PMS, moongates and triangular shapes, utopian ideas, psychotic showers and the encounter with a blond haired ghostess in a hotel pool, they decided to save the crust of a Cornish Pasty and build a shelter.
Ready to become what they are, they were finally pushed through a cervix like wormhole into a timeless space.
This would become their habitat for the future.

Barbara Signer and Natalie Price Hafslund take the positions of Maggot and Creature as a method to understand what reality and space means and how to think about that.
Swelling in substance and the unknown, maggot and creature convince themselves they are architects and prepare to enter the imago, a process of growth and development, challenging maturity by building shelters where they feel safe to transform. On their journey they mechanize pre image at sexual maturity by embracing and releasing fear. The space becomes a habitat for the language from inside the body, confronting its unbearable presence with devices for being, they exhibit a new way to live.

Signer and Hafslund met at The Mountain School of Arts, Los Angles and then at A-Z West Encampment, Joshua Tree soon after in 2016.

Barbara Signer (b.1982) works and lives in St. Gallen and Zurich, Switzerland. In her work she deals with reality. It is a reality which is formed by multiple layers of meaning and relations between and among beings and things. A place between fact and fiction.

Natalie Price Hafslund (b.1987) is an artist and writer based in Oslo, Norway. Their work discharges sociopolitical conditioning by gently tormenting environments with alchemical experiences of gender, care, power and control manacled in the vast ideology of late capitalism.
